The 10th-grade students of Pesantren Alam Sayang Ibu experienced an inspiring journey through an outing class designed specifically to deepen their understanding of the stock market and investment (5/2). This activity not only provided practical insights into the world of finance but also aimed to equip them with relevant knowledge to prepare for their financial future.
The journey began with a visit to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) NTB office, where the students were welcomed by experienced capital market professionals. They were introduced to the basic concepts of the stock market, such as stock trading, factors influencing stock prices, and the importance of portfolio diversification. The students also had the opportunity to witness firsthand how stock transactions are conducted on the stock exchange and interact with brokers working there. This provided them with real-life experience on how the stock market operates at a practical level.
After the visit to IDX, the journey continued to the Financial Services Authority (OJK) NTB office. Here, the students gained a deeper understanding of the importance of investment awareness from an early age and the dangers of fraudulent investments. They were taught how to identify signs of fraudulent investments and the importance of conducting research and consultations before making any investment decisions. Financial experts from OJK provided in-depth explanations and real-life case examples of the negative impacts of fraudulent investments.
Furthermore, during the visit to OJK, the students were provided with insights into various investment instruments available, including mutual funds, bonds, and properties. They were also taught the importance of prudent financial planning, including savings formation, debt management, and retirement planning.
The goal of this outing class activity was to provide the students with practical knowledge that would help them make wise financial decisions in the future. By understanding the fundamentals of the stock market and investment, as well as the risks associated with investments, it is hoped that they can adequately prepare themselves to manage their finances independently as adults.
