MENELITI MICROBIAL FUEL CELL (MFC ) DAN JUMLAH KARBON DI KONSERVASI BAKAU BAGEK KEMBAR - 2024

“Nature is a book that never ends. Every page we read is a valuable lesson.” - John Lubbock, from his book “The Beauties of Nature and the Wonders of the World We Live In”

The 10th-grade students of Pesantren Alam Sayang Ibu embarked on a profound adventure during their excursion to the Mangrove Conservation Area in Bagek Kembar. Throughout this journey, they not only relished the natural beauty enveloping them but also seized the opportunity to learn firsthand and conduct research on carbon stock and Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) contained within.

Armed with knowledge acquired in the classroom, they devoted their time to observe, measure, and analyze the surrounding environment. Through these activities, they gleaned insights into the significance of environmental conservation, the role of mangrove trees in ecosystem maintenance, and their impact on the carbon cycle in nature. Furthermore, they delved into the potential of MFC in harnessing energy from microbial activities in the mangrove environment.

This experience not only enriched the children’s knowledge but also fostered a sense of environmental stewardship. The outing provided invaluable experiences that not only honed their scientific skills but also deepened their connection with nature.

And He is the One Who sends down rain from the sky—causing all kinds of plants to grow—producing green stalks from which We bring forth clustered grain. And from palm trees come clusters of dates hanging within reach. ˹There are˺ also gardens of grapevines, olives, and pomegranates, similar ˹in shape˺ but dissimilar ˹in taste˺. Look at their fruit as it yields and ripens! Indeed, in these are signs for people who believe. (Surah Al-An’am [6:99])
